In celebration of our third annual month honoring witches, we’ve decided to read more about two of our favorites, the Aunts, and then discuss them with you during Virtual Book Club on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 7:30pm Central. If you don’t know Aunt Franny and Aunt Jet as well as you’d like, join us in reading The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman, to learn about the women who raised Jillian and Sally of Practical Magic. In case you didn’t get the clue regarding our commitment to witches with our choice for October’s Virtual Book Club title… We are, darling readers, riding our broomsticks hard for witches this October – just as we have since we started reviewing books here at Heart.Wants.Books. Our reasons for the season, which Alice Hoffman explains quite well for us in the quotation found at the beginning of the post here, haven’t changed, only intensified. If you’d like to join us in reading about some (mostly) female, mythic heroes of power trying to live their best lives all while saving themselves and others and inspiring us to be better people, better friends, and better neighbors, then please do!
