Don’t forget there’s only four days and counting to finish reading A Treacherous Curse by Deanna Raybourn, our Comfort Read Virtual Book Club pick! Sign up here to join us on Friday, December 9, at 7:30pm Central Time! We recommend your favorite warm beverages, a comfy blanket, and being prepared to wax philosophical over the adventures of Veronica and Stoker.
As the popular song says “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!” While that means a lot of hustle and bustle and too many things to do in many spheres of life, to balance that, around here it means Comfort Reads. Specifically, we’ll be reading books that feel comfortable, either because we know and adore the author (#1-3), it’s the follow up to a book we enjoyed (#2-3), or the plot feels like it’ll be comfortable (#BlameAnne for #4 readers because she recommended it and then had the author on for his own episode). Now, does this mean that’s what you should read this month or that’s how you should pick your Comfort Reads? As much as we’d love for all of you to read along with us, no, it doesn’t mean any of that. We think the idea of Comfort Reads is something to consider if it feels right to you this month, and we understand that different types of titles are comfortable to different readers. If you’re considering any of these titles, check back in the weeks to come (or better yet, sign up to receive the blogs via email on the right) to learn more about this month’s titles so you can decide if they might be for you.
The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters by Balli Kaur Jaswal (check out the review here)
Rich in Your Love (Tickled Pink #2) by Pippa Grant
The Bookwoman’s Daughter by Kim Michele Richardson
